Kelardasht District (Persian: بخش کلاردشت) is a former administrative division of Chalus County, Mazandaran province, Iran. Its capital was the city of Kelardasht.[3] Kelardasht corresponds to historical Kelarestaq.[4]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the district's population was 36,458 in 10,092 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 17,350 people in 5,390 households,[2] by which time Birun Bashm Rural District, Kuhestan Rural District, and the city of Marzanabad had been separated from the district to establish Marzanabad District. Kelardasht Rural District was renamed Kelardasht-e Sharqi Rural District and remained with the newly established Kelardasht-e Gharbi Rural District in the district.[6]

After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Kelardasht County.[7]
